You may not be able to access much of this site on March 27th from 09:00 PM EDT to 11:59 PM EDT since the back system (photoshelter) is undergoing a system upgrade. Hopefully this’ll not prove too inconvenient and you’ll click back soon.

March 27th, 2009Potteric Carr Nature Reserve
March 13th, 2009Following the trip to Dorset on Monday, we travelled up to Doncaster on Wednesday to visit the Potteric Carr Nature Reserve. Situated on the outskirts of Doncaster, the reserve is probably best known for seeing bitterns.
After a successful visit last month where we were able to see two bitterns, the visit this week was less successful. No bitterns but got some nice views of a wren which has proved quite difficult to get previously.
Visit to Nicholson Engineering
March 13th, 2009Went back to Bridport, Dorset, on Monday to visit Nicholson Engineering to take some more photographs of the bells for St Mary’s Church in Hugh Town on the Isles of Scilly. The frame was part assembled and had six of the eight bells mounted. Bells 7 and 8 had yet to be fitted. This was interesting though since it’s very rare to see a bell frame not installed in a tower!
We were also able to get a recording of new bells thanks to Andrew Nicholson and his mallet!
